The primary strategy is to include traditionally underrepresented students by focusing on school-wide integration of CS and computational thinking into core academic classes. This professional development course will focus teachers to:

  • leverage popular computer science applications (e.g. Khan Academy, Scratch, Code.org)
  • include unplugged activities to teach CS and computational thinking
  • embed inclusive instructional strategies and universal access
  • utilize socially and culturally relevant resources for CS instruction
  • structure the classroom and instruction to support social/emotional learning
